DOUBLE REGISTERED NEELIN/CROCUS STUDENTS AND PARENTS READ BELOW:
The Neelin schedule you see in mid-August will not include Crocus courses. It is possible that your Neelin schedule might require adjustments in order to accommodate Crocus Vocational classes.
A few notes on the experience of being a double-registered vocational student:
Due to capacity, Neelin students are not permitted to enroll in academic courses at Crocus.
Due to capacity, Neelin students are only permitted to be enrolled in ONE vocational cluster.
Double registered vocational students should expect a decreasing level of flexibility in timetabling as they progress through high school. In grades 10 – 12, Crocus vocational courses are scheduled throughout the school day (they are not necessarily grouped in the afternoon) and there is also an increase in the number of courses required in a vocational cluster.
There is some bussing available between Neelin and Crocus however this is not guaranteed transportation arrangements. Please speak with your designated counsellor to see if this is a possibility for your schedule.
Period 1 Band students receive transportation back to Neelin but must make their own way to Crocus for 8:55 am.
Students have a variety of supports available during their time at Neelin. This includes personal and academic counselling, educational programming support, referrals to community services, and cultural support. Students and families are welcome to contact school staff to set up appointment times with designated student services personnel.
