Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!

Halloween is an exciting time for little ghosts and goblins, but a few safety reminders can help make sure everyone has a fun night of trick-or-treating!

🧛 For Trick-or-Treaters and Families:

  • Trick-or-treat in your own neighbourhood and, whenever possible, have an adult accompany young children.
  • Review street safety rules:
    • Look both ways and check for traffic before crossing.
    • Never cross between parked cars.
    • Walk, don't run, when crossing the street.
  • Watch the Halloween Road Safety Video from Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI).
  • Choose bright or reflective costumes and carry a flashlight or glow stick.
  • Make sure costumes fit properly to prevent tripping, and use face paint instead of masks that may block vision.
  • Only visit homes with their lights on, never enter a stranger's home, and stay with your group.
  • Wait until you get home before eating any treats. Have an adult check them first.

🚗 For Drivers:

  • Slow down in residential neighbourhoods and be prepared to stop suddenly.
  • Stay alert for children crossing unexpectedly or darting out from between parked vehicles.
  • Use your headlights to help make your vehicle more visible.
  • Avoid distractions and keep your eyes on the road.
  • Be patient and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Let's all do our part to keep Halloween fun, festive and safe for everyone.
🦇 Have a spooktacular night! 🦇
